On Sunday October 28, 2007, at only 51, Ray Marshall Zdankiewicz of Holt, Mi went onto his final peace and rest. Ray passed away at home with his wife Bonnie and son John by his side. Ray had most recently been Operations Manager of six local radio stations, a job that he was devoted to and served for the last 17 years. Radio was Ray's love since being a kid in Cleveland, Ohio, attending Cleveland State University and WIXY School of Broadcasting. He has worked with dedication and enthusiasm to entertain and create theatre of the mind for over 30 years, a voice on the radio. He is survived by his wife of 25 years, Bonnie (Bruce) and his only son John. Ray was the beloved son of the late Helen and Lloyd Zdankiewicz and brother to Ed (Geraldine) Zdankiewicz and Celine (Jerome) Prugar of Cleveland, Ohio. Ray was also the beloved son of Nancy Bruce and the late Donald C. Bruce, as well as the dear brother of the late D. Douglas Bruce and his wife Pamela, Robert (Linda) Bruce of Cincinnati, Ohio and Jeffrey Bruce of Tampa, Fla. Ray loved his 11 nieces and nephews. He served his family, friends and community with love and devotion. Ray loved camping every year and shiny new (old) cars! Those who knew him best could call him anytime and he would be there .... Mr. Marshall G.D.I. He will surely be missed by all of us. Visitation will be held at the Palmer, Bush and Jensen Family Funeral Homes, Holt Chapel, 5035 Holt Road on Friday, November 2 from 2--4 and 6-8 p.m. A Celebration of Ray's life will be held Saturday, 10:00 a.m., at the Funeral Home.
